2 Peter 3:16 (KJV) As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

I visited a certain message board, and came upon an article written by one Dan #B. He was a preacher for some 19 years, but suddenly arrive at the conclusion that Jesus did not raise from the dead. He has written more than ten pages of stuff, putting down the Bible, and under minding the Christians faith. After looking over his works, I decide to provide an answer, and to show where he made his mistakes. It is a sad thing however, to see a person who was once fed, and take care of by the Church turn against it in such a grisly fashion. I will decipher all of it' but will only reveal a little, because some must be left in place to take down people who are in the faith for selfish reason.

1 John 2:19 (KJV) They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.

1 John 2:19 (Living Bible) These "against-Christ" people used to be members of our churches, but they never really belonged with us or else they would have stayed. When they left us, it proved that they were not of us at all.

EVEN BEFORE A STUDENT, OPEN HIS OR HER BIBLE.

There are some things that, that students have to learn first, even before they open the Bible, and read the first line. If they do not serious, consequence will follow. You must first study the manners and customs of the people that the Bible was written to. You must study their Idioms.

Let stop here for a while. One American man told me that Bob Morley killed a Sheriff at one time, base on the song “I shot the Sheriff” I told him “No” Jamaica do not use Sheriff. Alternatively, we do not call our law enforcement personal Sheriff. When I was going to school. “I shot the serif” Was a Jamaican Idiom. Which mean I had a wet dream. I dream I was having sex and you know what happen when I woke up. It did not actually mean that I shot a police man. When we say that a person jump ship, we do not really mean that the person jump off a certain ship, but that is what we say but that is not what we mean.

If you are going to mess around with the Bible, you need to first study the manners and custom, and idioms of the Bible are you will be in for some serious confusion.

THE SPIDER’S WEBS OF THE BIBLE.

Verses that seem to be conflicting we call the spider’s web of the Bible, because these verses have a way to tangle up, certain people that do not have the leading and guidance of The Holy Spirit upon their live, and will eventually drag them out of the church.

There are hundreds of verses, which look like conflicting in the Bible. All I will need do is go in there look them up and produce a book that will explain these suppose conflicting verses. But that is not a good idea. There are lot of ministers, which find themselves in the gospel for the money, for hard up women and easy living. They do not love the Lord Jesus neither love the saints. The spider’s web is the only things that can show them up, kick them out and get rid of them.

COLLECTING EVIDENCE.

Many of us Christians read too much into the word “Inspirations” These apostles wrote what they have seen and heard. There was no magic, no falling in a trance, they just wrote what they have seen and what they have heard.

1 John 1:3 (KJV) That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.

late one night there was a nock on my door. I woke up to find two police standing at my door. They say a criminal escape from the prison. The same prison I volunteer as chaplain. The prisoner seems to have affiliation with an address same like mine a few street over from my house. The cops went their but the person was not found. We told them that the person was not at our house. My wife invites the two cops in to search and be sure. My wife only saw two police, later she saw one more. I saw about four. Our house has four doors. One in front one in the side and two at the back. Each of those exit seem to have police covering them before they knock. Until now my wife, do not know that more police was there. However, how many police did she saw? Was she wrong, No, that was what she saw. Her account and my account differ. However, both correct some kind of way base on what each of us saw.

OK LET US GET GOING.

When the Bible said that David slept with his fathers or certain disciples lying on Jesus breast, if you do not know the custom and Idioms you could make a lot of mess with these verse.

1 Kings 2:10 (KJV) So David slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David.

Slept with his father mean he died. Remember Jesus said that Lazarus was sleeping? John 13:25 (KJV) He then lying on Jesus' breast saith unto him, Lord, who is it?

Lying on Jesus breast is an Idiom, which mean, this person sit always closest to Jesus. Because of the way, they sit in that part of the world at dinner. However, can you imagine when a fool gets this verse, what they did with it?

John 21:20 (KJV) Then Peter, turning about, seeth the disciple whom Jesus loved following; which also leaned on his breast at supper, and said, Lord, which is he that betrayeth thee?

THE STUDENT MUST UNDERSTAND THE DISADVANTAGE AND ADVANTAGE OF THE 1611 TRANSLATION.

When today readers compare the King James with the modern translations they say two different things. In addition, the way the King James versions said things, can cause one to come up with the wrong Idea if you are not paying attention.

WHEN INTERPRETING A PASSAGE THAT SEEM TO BE CONFLICTING.

First look what they have in common, look what they agreed on, then look at what they disagree on and try to find out why the disagreement. In the following passage. St Matthew said the sermon on the mount was preaching upon the mountain. St Luke said it was on the plain. Which one is correct? The truth is Jesus preach the same sermon several places, just like today preachers who preaches one sermon several times and several different places. St Matthew record the time on the mount when Luke record the time on the plain.

UPON THE MOUNTAIN.

Matthew 5:1 (KJV) And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him: Matthew 5:2 (KJV) And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying, Matthew 5:3 (KJV) Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

DOWN IN THE PLAIN.

Luke 6:17 (KJV) And he came down with them, and stood in the plain, and the company of his disciples, and a great multitude of people out of all Judaea and Jerusalem, and from the sea coast of Tyre and Sidon, which came to hear him, and to be healed of their diseases; Luke 6:18 (KJV) And they that were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed. Luke 6:19 (KJV) And the whole multitude sought to touch him: for there went virtue out of him, and healed them all. Luke 6:20 (KJV) And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed be ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God. Luke 6:21 (KJV) Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh.

HOW MANY TIME DID JESUS FEED PEOPLE?

How many people did Jesus actually feed? One said it was five thousand and one said it was four thousand which is correct.

FIVE THOUSAND MEN BESIDE WOMEN AND CHILDREN.

Matthew 14:19-21 (KJV) And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude. [20] And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full. [21] And they that had eaten were about five thousand men, beside women and children.

THIS SAID IT WAS FOUR THOUSAND.

Matthew 15:37-38 (KJV) And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the broken meat that was left seven baskets full. [38] And they that did eat were four thousand men, beside women and children.

THE CORRECT ANSWER, JESUS DID IT TWO TIMES.

Mark 8:18-21 (KJV) Having eyes, see ye not? and having ears, hear ye not? and do ye not remember? [19] When I brake the five loaves among five thousand, how many baskets full of fragments took ye up? They say unto him, Twelve. [20] And when the seven among four thousand, how many baskets full of fragments took ye up? And they said, Seven. [21] And he said unto them, How is it that ye do not understand?

You see, a person that is not reading the Bible and are not aware of St Mark 8: 18-21 account of the two times Jesus feed the people, will arrive at the conclusion that there is a contradiction. At the same time there are no contradictions.

DID JESUS RISE FROM THE DEAD.

Now the following is what the x preacher Mr Dan Barker wrote, I am going to go through the resurrection of Christ part, this I will publish on the web, but the rest I will keep to my self and close friends. Because the spider’s web that I talk about before must not be remove. Something must be left in place so those who are not grounded can be swept away. There are certain people that rape the gospel, and cause many hurts in the church. Good riddance, when they left. The first thing I will be dealing with is the time the women visit the tomb. This is the first thing Mr Dan also dealt with.

Did Jesus Really Rise From The Dead? by Dan Bar----

This article first appeared in Abuse Your Illusions: The Disinformation Guide To Media Mirages and Establishment Lies, edited by R-- K--, 2003.

During the 19 years I preached the Gospel, the resurrection of Jesus was the keystone of my ministry.[1] Every Easter I affirmed the Apostle Paul's admonition:

"If Christ has not been raised, then our proclamation has been in vain and your faith has been in vain."[2] I wrote a popular Easter musical called "His Fleece Was White As Snow" with the joyous finale proclaiming: "Sing Hosanna! Christ is Raised! The Son has risen to shine on me!"[3]

But now I no longer believe it. Many bible scholars[4] and ministers--including one third of the clergy in the Church of England[5]--reject the idea that Jesus bodily came back to life. So do 30% of born-again American Christians![6] Why?

When the Gospel of John portrays the post-mortem Jesus on a fishing trip with his buddies and the writer of Matthew shows him giving his team a mountain-top pep talk two days after he died, how can there be any doubt that the original believers were convinced he had bodily risen from the grave?

There have been many reasons for doubting the claim, but the consensus among critical scholars today appears to be that the story is a "legend."

Internal Discrepancies

The resurrection of Jesus is one of the few stories that is told repeatedly in the bible--more than 5 times--so it provides an excellent test for the orthodox claim of scriptural inerrancy and reliability. When we compare the accounts, we see they do not agree.

What time did the women visit the tomb? ASK BY Mr Dan.

Matthew: "as it began to dawn" (28:1)

Mark "very early in the morning . . . at the rising of the sun" (16:2,

KJV); "when the sun had risen" (NRSV); "just after sunrise" (NIV)

Luke: "very early in the morning" (24:1, KJV) "at early dawn" (NRSV)

John: "when it was yet dark" (20:1)

Dr. James responds. What time did the women visit the tomb

The secret here is to read the full verses just like how I had it outline here. Do not just take what was said and pay attention to the reference. Read the full verse.

THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME THE TOMB WAS VISITED BY THE WOMEN, ONE DAY BEFORE THE SABBATH.

Luke 23:55-56 (KJV) And the women also, which came with him from Galilee, followed after, and beheld the sepulchre, and how his body was laid. [56] And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the sabbath day according to the commandment.

The women were visiting the tomb from the day before the sabbath. Before they lost access to the tomb, because somebody went and reminded Pilate that the deceiver said he was going to raise the third day. Therefore, Pilate sent and got the tomb seal. Mary must have heard that it happen because she came to the tomb on more than one occasion the same morning, one time she saw two angels, which other writer call men, I will deal with this later.

Days were reckoned from sunset to sunset (Leviticus 23:32

What time did the women visit the tomb?

The first thing to look at is Mr Dan is using different versions which conflicts, Notice that he is using the NRSV, NIV, and the KJV all at one time.

Note that “Very early in the morning, as it began to dawn, at the rising of the sun, when the sun was risen are all the same thing.

Each year when we celebrate, new year in the United States, new year begins one minute after twelve midnight. From that time until cars take their head lights off is considered a new day and is considered morning.

READ THE FOUR ACCOUNTS OF THE TIME OF VISIT.

Matthew 28:1 (KJV)In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.

Mark 16:2 (KJV)And very early in the morning the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun.

Luke 24:1 (KJV) Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them.

John 20:1 (KJV)The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre.

The Jews divided the night into 3 parts of 4 hours each and the Romans into 4 parts of 3 hours each. The 4th watch would be 3:00 to 6:00 in the morning.

What did these verses had in common?

These verses had every thing in common. Early in the morning is still dark in that part of the world. Who were the women? Mr Dan B Comment.

Matthew: Mary Magdalene and the other Mary (28:1)

Mark: Mary Magdalene, the mother of James, and Salome (16:1)

Luke: Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and other women (24:10)

John: Mary Magdalene (20:1)

WHAT THE BIBLE ACTUALLY SAID.

I lay the verses out the same way Mr Dan B has it so you can see the difference. However, again you have to read the full verse.

Matthew 28:1 (KJV) In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.

Mark 16:1 (KJV) And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him.

Luke 24:10 (KJV) It was Mary Magdalene, and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James, and other women that were with them, which told these things unto the apostles.

John 20:1 (KJV) The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre.

WHAT DID THESE VERSES HAD IN COMMON?

Luke 24:10 [Mary Magdalene] One of six Mary's, she was healed by Jesus (Mark 16:9; Luke 8:2-3). Present at the crucifixion (Matthew 27:56; Mark 15:40; John 19:25), at the tomb (Matthew 27:61; Matthew 28:1-7; Mark 15:47; Mark 16:1-7; Luke 23:49,55; Luke 24:1-7; John 20:1,11-13). First woman to see Jesus after the resurrection, but not the first person to see him. (Mark 16:9; John 20:14-18).

b[Joanna] Wife of Chuza, the steward of Herod, and a disciple of Jesus (Luke 8:3; Luke 24:10).

c [Mary the mother of James] One of six Mary's, the wife of Cleopas and sister of Mary the mother of Jesus (Matthew 27:56; Mark 15:40; John 19:25). She was with other women at the tomb and a witness of the resurrection (Matthew 27:61; Matthew 28:1; Mark 15:47; Mark 16:1; Luke 24:10).

d [James] The son of Alphaeus and cousin of Jesus and brother to Judas (not Iscariot), Matthew, and Simon Zelotes (note,

What was their purpose? Mr Dan B asks.

Matthew: to see the tomb (28:1)

Mark: had already seen the tomb (15:47), brought spices (16:1) So! What they came again.

Luke: had already seen the tomb (23:55), brought spices (24:1) So what, they came to see it again.

John: the body had already been spiced before they arrived (19:39,40) Yes, what wrong if they put more, it is their lord.

Was the tomb open when they arrived? Mr Dan B asks.

Again you have to look up the verse and read it in full, and not just going by what Mr Dan B outline

Matthew: No (28:2)

Mark: Yes (16:4)

Luke: Yes (24:2)

John: Yes (20:1)

Who was at the tomb when they arrived?

Mary went to the tomb first and find the body gone, she went and told the apostles, which came back with her. However, she made several trip back and forth to the tomb that morning, finally she saw Jesus. Each time she visited the tomb, the angels are going to be in different place, one might be seen and the other one not. Matthew: One angel (28:2-7)

Mark: One young man (16:5)

Luke: Two men (24:4)

John: Two angels (20:12)

WHY THE BIBLE CALL THEM ANGEL IN SOME PASSAGE AND MEN OR YOUNG MEN IN OTHER? Dr. James asks.

Look! It was Mary that saw two angels. John 20:11-12 (KJV) But Mary stood without at the sepulchre weeping: and as she wept, she stooped down, and looked into the sepulchre, [12] And seeth two angels in white sitting, the one at the head, and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain.

THIS WAS ANOTHER VISIT THAT TWO MEN WERE SEEN

Luke 24:4 (KJV) And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments:

WHO SAW THESE TWO MEN? (((( They ))))

Luke 24:5-11 (KJV) And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead? [6] He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee, [7] Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again. [8] And they remembered his words, [9] And returned from the sepulchre, and told all these things unto the eleven, and to all the rest. [10] It was Mary Magdalene, and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James, and other women that were with them, which told these things unto the apostles. [11] And their words seemed to them as idle tales, and they believed them not.

ONE YOUNG MAN.

Mark 16:5 (KJV) And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment; and they were affrighted.

Mark 16:1-2 (KJV) And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him. [2] And very early in the morning the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun.

This visit they saw one young man. However, this was one of three.

WHO WERE THESE TWO MEN REFEREED TO AS ANGELS?

Luke 9:30 (KJV) And, behold, there talked with him two men, which were Moses and Elias:

When the Bible refereed to certain people as angels, then at other time as men. The person was men. Ministers are sometime referring to as angels, yet they are men.

Acts 1:9-11 (KJV) And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. [10] And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; [11] Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

Luke 24:4 (KJV) And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments:

a [two men stood by them in shining garments] Matthew and Mark both mention only one angel, but one could have been in the tomb and one on the stone door, so Luke gives the more complete account.

Where were these messengers situated?

Matthew: Angel sitting on the stone (28:2)

Mark: Young man sitting inside, on the right (16:5)

Luke: Two men standing inside (24:4)

John: Two angels sitting on each end of the bed (20:12)

When did Mary first see Jesus? Mr Dan B asks.

Mary the first woman to see Jesus after the resurrection but not the first person. Dr. James answered.

Matthew: Before she returned to the disciples (28:9)

Mark: Before she returned to the disciples (16:9,10[23])

John: After she returned to the disciples (20:2,14)

Could Jesus be touched after the resurrection? Matthew: Yes (28:9)

John: No (20:17), Yes (20:27) Look!! Not because a verse is put here, go look up the verse and read it.

After the women, to who did Jesus first appear? Mr Dan B asks.

Matthew: Eleven disciples (28:16)

Mark: Two disciples in the country, later to eleven (16:12,14[23])

Luke: Two disciples in Emmaus, later to eleven (24:13,36)

John: Ten disciples (Judas and Thomas were absent) (20:19, 24)

Mr DAN B SARCASM “JUDAS WAS ALREADY DEAD”.

Paul: First to Cephas (Peter), then to the twelve. (Twelve? Judas was dead). (I Corinthians 15:5)

Yes! Cephas was the first man, apart from the two angels that saw him. However, the very first people that saw Jesus were the solders guarding the tomb.

However, Mr Dan forgot that the apostles quickly appoint another eye witness, a man call Matthias. Therefore, Jesus did appear to the twelve just like what Paul said..

Acts 1:22 (KJV) Beginning from the baptism of John, unto that same day that he was taken up from us, must one be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection. Acts 1:23 (KJV) And they appointed two, Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias.

KNOWING GOD APART FROM THE SCRIPTURES.

1 John 5:10 (KJV) He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.

Psalm 89:15 (KJV) Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O Lord, in the light of thy countenance.

Daniel 11:32 (Living Bible) He will flatter those who hate the things of God and win them over to his side. However, the people who know their God shall be strong and do great things.

Romans 5:6 (KJV) For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. Romans 5:7 (KJV) For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. Romans 5:9 (KJV) Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. Romans 5:10 (KJV) For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
